Monthly Musing: April

Selamat Hari Raya, everyone!

I know it is end of the month BUT raya in Singapore lasts for one whole month so I am not too late! How's your Raya been? Hope that your Syawal has been a blessed one filled with love and happiness!

I feel my Syawal has been much more busier than my Ramadan. I am always out every weekend going to open houses and visiting relatives. My social battery depleted faster than it could ever recharged. In fact, I can feel myself being so physically and emotionally drained. I think the age factor play a huge part in this.

I am not complaining and I wouldn't allow myself to. Raya is the time to spend time and reconnect with family and friends I care about. I know I could always meet them some other time of the year but frankly, everyone are busy with their family, work and other commitments. It is difficult to meet when there are no special occasions. All I can say, "Alhamdulillah for Grab, Gojek, taxi and Tada!". They are the real heroes and time-saver especially during super HOT days!

Even though Raya is over, I will still try to make effort to spend more time with my family and friends. But I need one month to hole up somewhere to charge my social battery. It is now at -84%. Old people need a longer me-time!

So with that I pray that we will have a beautiful May and remember to honour your Mum on Mother's Day!
