Monthly Musing: September

Assalamualaikum everyone,

September is a super special month for me. Other than the usual craziness like booth and PSLE, it is the month that they celebrate educators! This year, I got lots of treats from my students. A happy occasion for my tum tum!

Also, my birthday is in September! So another round of pressies and treats for me. A real bad time to diet which is okay because I wasn’t dieting. 

Everytime I turn a year older, I expect some kind of life changing thing to happen. Shouldn’t I feel wiser? Smarter? More mature? But my insides still feel kind of the same as it did many years back. But I know that the version of me today is so different from the many versions of me from yesteryears. So have I truly changed? Did I become someone better in judgement? Or am I not making any differences in myself and the people around me?

But I do know for certain that I want to do my best in this Dunya for my Akhirah. That’s it. It means being closer to Allah. Being a good person. Taking care of myself and the people and animals around me. Making sure that I am the best Muslim I can be.

Hopefully the next birthday, if Allah wills that I will see it, I hope that I am a better version of myself than today. I doa the same for you as well! To be a better version everyday!
