This month we will be sharing a poem from Love Journey.

and the story behind it.

I wrote this for my grandmother initially but it is for all my grandparents. My ancestors whose blood runs through me.

My grandmother from my mother's side play a part in raising me. She is one of the strongest woman I know. She was widowed at a very young age and had seven young kids to take care of. She did it all by herself and refused to remarry even when many suitors knocked on her door. I truly respect her independence and strength. That's why this poem is for her.

I don't really remember my other grandparents well. Yet I know that without them, I wouldn't be here. The values and essences are passed down to their children and passed down to us and hopefully the next generation.

I can only pray that I will meet them again one day in Jannah. Aamiin...
