Poem/Prose Prompt: Better Never Than Now

Oh no…

The first words I uttered after you walked away. Was it what you said? Or was it it the way you said it? Did you even feel that electrifying energy between us or was it just your natural aura?

We spoke a lot about us. You telling me things like we have known each other for awhile. Yet, not a single name was exchanged. If I knew, I fear. I would certainly be in deep trouble. 

Bidding goodbye. As if we would see each other again. I whispered to your fading silhouette, “Better never than now.”
