One Thing I Like To Improve In My Life

Writer's picture: Surreal WritersSurreal Writers

I used to have such a problem with procrastination. I was always doing things last minute. It worked for most of my life, doing things last minute. But once I reached a certain age and my movements are slower, I had to get a hold of my procrastination and actually became better at it. You can see it in my weekly updates with this 30 Week Challenge. I haven't miss one yet and it is nearing the end.

Now I am working on my organisational skills. I really need to make an improvement on this portion in my life. My kitchen is dying for a clean up. My office needs an overhaul. My wardrobe needs a makeover. Seriously everything is a mess.

At the moment, I am in the midst of moving houses so the mess just piled on. It is really cray-cray. The only silver lining about all these is that I can create a better organisation system in my new home.

Now I am watching Home Edit and Marie Kondo on Netflix. I have to say it helps me declutter the things that I don't need. Frankly, I am wondering where all the stuffs come from. There are only two people living in my house. Why is every corner of my house filled with stuffs?

Tiktok and Youtube are also my friends. Watching others organise their life is mesmerising. Calming, too. The only problem when I am not watching I feel exasperated at my own mess and stick to the basic.

So I will start with the easy one, declutter. And try not to bring in more stuffs into my life. Unnecessary stuffs especially. I will try to go as minimal as I can.

Next, shopping or create a nice organisation flow into my home and life. Home Edit says we must use transparent boxes or storage compartment so that we can see what we have easily. And labels everything appropriately. Because you know outta sight, outta mind kind of deal that leads to us to be filled with too much stuffs.

Finally, I need to be consistent in how I arrange everything. I need to be tougher on myself and put everything back in their place each time I used them. Throw what needs to be thrown, clean what needs to be cleaned, stock up and placed everything at their proper place.

I will do this and I can do this. Wish me all the best ok?

What is the one thing you want to improve in your life? Let me know. Maybe we can help each other improve.
